About the role 🧐
As an Engineering Manager (People Lead), you play a key role in how our organisation grows, performs, and delivers. You combine people leadership with delivery ownership, coaching engineers to grow, keeping teams effective, and turning product ideas into reliable, high-quality software.
You’ll lead a team (around 5 direct reports) and work closely with the Tech Leads and Product Managers. Together, you make sure priorities are clear, execution stays on track, and the team continuously improves how it works.
While your primary focus is on people and delivery leadership, we value people managers who stay genuinely close to the work. Depending on your background and interests, there is room to contribute hands-on, whether through code reviews, technical input, or picking up a task when it helps the team. That kind of involvement is something we appreciate and encourage.
In this role, you'll be joining the Product & Development team. A team led by Gijs Hendrix.
What you’ll do
You coach and support engineers in their growth and performance, helping them develop their skills and reach their potential. You foster a strong culture of feedback, learning, and collaboration, where people can do their best work and continuously improve.
You help the team stay focused and aligned by ensuring clear priorities, realistic planning, and smooth delivery. You work closely with Product Managers and Tech Leads to keep execution on track, and contribute to the meetings and rituals that keep the team aligned and moving forward. Beyond the team itself, you drive alignment across teams and functions, and play an active role in product and personnel decisions that affect the team's direction and growth.
You also play an active role in how the team works together day to day. You look for ways to improve collaboration, simplify ways of working, and ensure the team keeps moving forward effectively. Continuous improvement is a natural part of how you operate.
In addition, you help build and support a strong and healthy team. You are involved in hiring and onboarding, and you make sure new team members can ramp up quickly and successfully. You keep an eye on team health, balance, and dynamics, and step in early when support is needed.

Enjoy coaching, mentoring, and helping engineers grow
Understand how software teams operate in a SaaS environment
Can balance delivery, people, and product priorities
Are comfortable working closely with Product Managers and Tech Leads
Care about psychological safety and healthy team dynamics
Can effectively lead a team of up to 5 engineers
Are curious about how AI can improve modern engineering workflows
